- ➤ Empire Fleet Vintage is holding multiple sales (75% off and a $20 bag deal) to clear out its signature collection from the 1980s to early 2000s before closing at the end of this month. WSET
- ➤ AAA will close its Lynchburg office on Wards Ferry Road on Jan. 31 — members can instead get roadside assistance at its Charlottesville and Roanoke offices or online. The company cites changes in the competitive marketplace as the reason. WSET
- ➤ ThreadCycle, a second-hand clothing shop in Hill City, will hold its first pop-up sale on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Plaza (off Memorial Ave) with all items priced at $3 or less, and it plans to host monthly events to clear inventory. WSET
- ➤ Uptown Cheapskate, a new thrift and resale store, is under construction at Candler’s Mountain Shopping Center and will open later this spring once sufficient inventory is collected (clothing purchases will begin by late February). WSET
- ➤ After a five-year hiatus & a pandemic pause, The Sauce House has opened on 5th Street offering comfort food with scratch-made sauces. The News & Advance
