Six centenarian veterans who served in World War II and the Korean War were celebrated at Davis — McDaniel Veterans Care Center in Salem, where family and caregivers gathered to honor their enduring service.

Lynchburg firefighters spent several hours in frigid conditions rescuing a dog that fell nearly 50 feet into an old well late last night+ the pet is now safe.
