- ➤ Avio’s new rocket motor factory in Hurt will open in two years and eventually create over 1,500 jobs by 2035 — a target 50% higher than Gov. Abigail Spanberger announced Monday. The News & Advance

- ➤ Heritage High School will require students to pass through metal detectors on Monday, Mar. 2 to enhance safety after E.C. Glass High School’s Jan. 20 installation flagged no weapons and involved staff bag checks. WSET

- ➤ Lynchburg Water Resources, with its contractor partners, will begin free inspections of water service line materials across select neighborhoods (Pure Pipe Lynchburg) starting Thursday, checking either in-home or outdoor potholing and offering free pipe replacements if lead or galvanized pipes are found to ensure safe drinking water.
