- ➤ On Tuesday, March 3, IHOP (on Ford Avenue) in Lynchburg offered a free short stack for dine-in between 7:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. with all proceeds donated to Blood Cancer United. WSET
- ➤ Yesterday, the YWCA of Central Virginia honored seven Lynchburg women from fields including business, education, and health with its Women of Distinction awards+ the event celebrated their efforts to make the community stronger. WSET

EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Lynchburg schools and police reviewed a suspicious social media comment referencing Heritage yesterday. Officials confirmed no credible threat was found — police continue investigating. WSET
- ➤ School administrators at E.C. Glass High School confiscated a BB gun from a student’s backpack during morning metal detector screenings on Tuesday (it violated school board policy). WSET
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Bedford County officials tabled a plan to expand a Forest townhouse development from 53 to 83 units after a packed planning meeting where residents voiced strong opposition and concerns about overcrowding. The proposal will be revisited at a later hearing. WSET
