- ➤ Convert Roofing held a ribbon-cutting ceremony Thursday morning for its new home improvement showroom on Oakley Avenue — a space offering roofing, solar panel installation, siding and EV charging — which aims to educate homeowners and host community group meetings during weekly hours from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. WSET

- ➤ Lynchburg professor Mike Robinson (26 years teaching film classes) said he is rooting for 'Sinners' to win Best Picture as the Oscars approach, noting that horror and sci-fi films are gaining recognition in the streaming era. WSET
ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ A Danville-based economic development group, Future of the Piedmont Foundation, urged state leaders to keep data center tax incentives, noting a Berry Hill deal that could add 2,050 higher-wage jobs in Pittsylvania. The group asked Gov Spanberger and legislators to honor commitments through 2035 to secure future investment. Cardinal News

- ➤ Dr. Sally Coleman Selden was unanimously chosen by the University board to lead as the institution’s next president after Dr. Alison Morrison-Shetlar retires on June 30; Selden will visit campus in early April to meet with faculty, staff, students, and community leaders. WSLS 10
- ➤ Several Bedford County Board of Supervisors spoke out Tuesday against closing Stewartsville Elementary School and pledged to work with the county to keep it open. The News & Advance

- ➤ Early warm weather in Lynchburg led many plants to bloom prematurely, but certified arborist Dean Dykeman warns that next week's cold (with temperatures dropping to 27 to 28°F) may harm these blooms and vulnerable perennials. WSET

- ➤ Governor Abigail Spanberger ordered that U.S. and Commonwealth flags be lowered today at sunrise on state and local buildings to honor U.S. Army Corporal Marvin Silvester Patton — a Korean War soldier now laid to rest in Dublin. His service is recognized until sunset. WDBJ7
