- ➤ Sinclair and the Lynchburg Salvation Army have partnered on Sinclair Cares: From Homeless to Hope to help shelter up to 35 people each night while case workers secure permanent housing—offering residents a safe 60 to 90-day stay. CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Safeeyah Diasa Clement (23) was sentenced on March 19th to serve 20 years in prison after pleading guilty to multiple drug distribution charges (a 60-year sentence with 40 years suspended) in a case linked to overdose deaths. WDBJ7
- ➤ A man died after sustaining fatal injuries from a suspected shooting at a residence on the 500 block of Winston Ridge Road around 2:38 p.m. Thursday, and police are interviewing a 34-year-old woman who was present. WSLS 10

- ➤ Former astronaut and engineer Leland Melvin visited Robert S. Payne Elementary School on Thursday to encourage students and show how reading can help fuel big dreams. The students had passed their goal of reading 100,000 minutes and Melvin said his own success came from reading, sports, and playing video games. WSLS 10

- ➤ Senator Tim Kaine visited the Framatome expansion on Mill Ridge Road in Lynchburg where workers are building a facility to create more than 500 new jobs—ranging from engineers to support staff.
