COMMUNITY NEWS

  • ABC13 partnered with Lynchburg Daily Bread today for Sinclair's Day of Service 2025 as team volunteers bagged food, plated meals, and picked up trash; Executive Director Tracey Dixson said speed was critical to serve 800 meals when the kitchen opened. Lynchburg Daily Bread also received a check for over $13,000 from the Academy Center of the Arts raised during the Empty Bowls event in March.  WSET

EDUCATION NEWS

  • The Lynchburg City School Board voted on Tuesday night to close T.C. Miller Elementary and repurpose it for early education under a new Elementary Efficiency plan. Students will move to Perrymont or R.S. Payne as phase one of the plan starts next year—after nearly two years of debate.  WFXR TV
  • CCPS hosted College & Career Day last week at the Campbell County Technical Center—where over 100 local employers including the Virginia State Police, Delta Star and Centra Health met with students—to help them explore job and training opportunities for growing careers in the region.  The News & Advance
