ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Rustburg Volunteer Fire Department responded to a house fire in the 1600 block of Bethany Road on Easter Sunday that engulfed a two-story wood frame house and a vehicle in the driveway while additional units helped control the blaze from 4:40 p.m. until crews left at 7:00 p.m. with no one reported inside. - ➤ Delta Star Inc. announced that its $35 million expansion will add 80,000 square feet to its Lynchburg facility and create 300 new manufacturing and engineering jobs for local residents. The company will hold a groundbreaking this fall and expects the project to be completed by the end of 2026 — boosting central Virginia’s industrial growth. WDBJ7

- ➤ Delta Star, a Lynchburg-based manufacturer, announced a $35M expansion at its East facility that will add 80,000 square feet and create 300 jobs (in the next four years). The project will start this fall and aims to boost production as local unemployment recalled a rise to 3.7% in February. WSLS 10

- ➤ Lynchburg voters in Precincts 203 and 301 will vote at new polling places on Election Day: Precinct 301 will vote at West Lynchburg Baptist Church at 3031 Memorial Avenue and Precinct 203 will vote at Greater Brookville Church at 1916 Florida Avenue. The Lynchburg Registrar’s Office at 825 Kemper Street—open on weekdays ahead of the June 17 Primary Election and for absentee ballot drop-offs on Election Day—reminds voters that final registration submissions are due by May 27.
