- ➤ Riverfront Park in Lynchburg opened its long-awaited playground today after a $170,000 donation by the Kiwanis Club (which began plans in 2019 for its 100th anniversary), and the new facility features swings, a merry-go-round, climbing structures and a trampoline (designed for children of all abilities). - ➤ City Councilwoman Jacqueline Timmer said Miller Park Pool may be leveled and rebuilt at a cost over $10 million—and she wants to work with the YMCA instead of raising taxes.
