- ➤ Devon Thomas, accused of fatally stabbing 65-year-old Clifford Carter in his front yard on Oct. 8, faced a Lynchburg judge Tuesday who certified six charges against him—these include second-degree murder, drug possession, two counts of discharging missiles, and two counts of property destruction. - ➤ The Bedford County Sheriff’s Office reported that on May 5 two men stole $300 in alcohol at an ABC Liquor Store in Forest; surveillance photos show one man wearing a black shirt with a backpack and another wearing a gray tank top who left the store in a four door sedan toward Lynchburg — anyone with information is urged to contact authorities. - ➤ Two men were photographed stealing about $300 worth of alcohol from the Forest ABC store—one wearing a black shirt and backpack and the other in a gray sleeveless shirt before leaving in a silver sedan—and the Bedford County Sheriff's Office is asking the public for help in identifying them. - ➤ Lynchburg Police report that Nathaniel Pridemore, 33, now faces upgraded charges including aggravated murder and shooting in committing or attempting a felony for the fatal shooting of 19-year-old Cash Gaudio on September 30 at his Fairlea Court home — he also faces additional charges including aggravated murder, firearm use in a felony and discharging a firearm for the killing of 36-year-old Christina Hamilton at his Tunbridge Road residence — and he remains in custody without bond. - ➤ Lynchburg police upgraded charges related to the September 2024 shooting deaths when 33-year-old Nathaniel Pridemore was identified on September 30 for killing 19-year-old Cash Gaudio on Fairlea Court and 36-year-old Christina Hamilton at a home on Turnbridge Road—Pridemore now faces an upgraded charge of Aggravated Murder plus a new charge of Shooting in Committing or Attempting a Felony along with additional firearm charges and remains in custody without bond. - ➤ Raven Lounge, led by owner Jenee Davis—who sings in a local band—will open on May 10 on Main St in downtown Lynchburg and offer live music, wine, and unique food like charcuterie and fancy grilled cheese. The lounge will host live music four days each week with evening shows on Tuesday and Thursday and Boards and Bands on weekends from 11 to 2. WSET

- ➤ Timberlake Investments LLC filed a lawsuit claiming Lynchburg City Council’s rejection of its rezoning application for an 18-townhouse and duplex project on Wards Ferry Road was invalid—arguing that the vote was arbitrary in light of a concurrent approval for a 750-unit housing development on Wiggington Road. The developer said the council’s decision, based on traffic and safety concerns near Heritage High School, was inconsistent with past practices on zoning requests. The News & Advance
