- ➤ Lynchburg earned a spot among Livability’s Top 100 Best Places to Live because its affordable cost of living, walkable neighborhoods, and a vibrant downtown add to its unique character. - ➤ University of Lynchburg held a two-day GiveDays that raised $901,525 from 1,335 donors (boosting key funds and highlighting Founders Week events and student success) in the local community. The News & Advance
- ➤ At Danville Area Humane Society, a 12-year-old dog named Eve, a longtime favorite at a Lynchburg shelter, was euthanized after failing to find a new home — prompting Virginia State Senator Bill Stanley to work on new shelter rules to help prevent similar outcomes. WSET
- ➤ After a dog named Eve was euthanized by Danville Area Humane Society, Lynchburg Humane Society said it was never contacted (Eve had a microchip registered to Lynchburg) and questioned the intake process.
