ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ Gas prices are climbing today with Lynchburg drivers paying about $4.17 per gallon for regular gas while some local stations offer rates as low as $3.89 (Royal Farms on Wards Road). Nationwide trends have pushed prices higher amid supply chain issues, with nearby counties reporting even steeper rates. WSLS 10
- ➤ Virginia gasoline prices averaged $4.29 per gallon on Monday after rising 12.9 cents over the week, according to a GasBuddy survey. Prices have increased 29.1 cents since last month & range from $3.82 to $5.49 per gallon. WSET
- ➤ Columbia Gas is asking state regulators for a two-part rate increase to raise the average Lynchburg-region customer's bill by about $14, with the first phase starting Oct. 4 and the second phase beginning Oct. 4, 2027. The extra revenue will finance safety and tech upgrades. Cardinal News
