- ➤ At Central Virginia Community College’s 57th commencement on Thursday, Electronic Design and Manufacturing President and CEO Bree Oldham told graduates that growth begins where your comfort zone ends—more than 1,300 students earned 2,115 credentials including degrees, diplomas, and certificates. - ➤ Lynchburg City Council will hold a public hearing on May 27 to discuss proposals to raise the city’s lodging tax rate and daily fee—residents can offer input during the session. The News & Advance
- ➤ The Bedford County Board of Supervisors unanimously approved two special use permits for recreational vehicle and boat storage—one for a nine-acre site at 1217 Stoney Fork Road in Moneta near Staunton River High School and the other at 13315 Stewartsville Road in Stewartsville, both with conditions that limit use to storage only. At the meeting, Horizon Behavioral Health CEO Melissa Lucy reported that in-person appointments increased from 61,802 to 70,279 and that renovations for a new crisis receiving center on Fenwick Drive are expected to be completed by the first quarter of 2026.
