Glass High School teacher and coach Rod Camden retired in June after 52 years at Lynchburg City Schools, having started teaching in 1971 and launching the girls’ cross country program in 1978. Alumni, staff and students honored his legacy by naming May 22 as Rod Camden Recognition Day — his name now graces the school’s Wall of Excellence and a scholarship is awarded in his honor each year.
