- ➤ Greater Lynchburg Habitat for Humanity will build its first home in Bedford this Saturday and Sunday (volunteers are needed) to install walls, doors, windows, and roof plywood that keep the home safe from the weather. The house for a single mom and her child will have three bedrooms, two baths, a kitchen, and a living room, with work continuing through the summer to finish it by October. WSLS 10

The modern facility consolidates three older buildings into nearly 96,000 square feet of space—featuring enhanced security, a dedicated community room, and a new real-time crime center. - ➤ Lynchburg City Council met Tuesday night to review the city budget and taxes—passing an ordinance to set a car tax of $3.00 and scheduling a special meeting on Monday, June 30 at 10 a.m. to finalize the real estate tax rate from four proposed options. WSET
