- ➤ ABC13’s viewing area has Fourth of July events with live music and fireworks at Thomas Road Baptist Church today at 5:00 p.m. in Lynchburg. Other celebrations—such as races, festivals, and additional fireworks shows—will take place in Lynchburg, Roanoke, Brookneal, Salem, and at Smith Mountain Lake through July 5. WSET

- ➤ Virginia State Police issued a Senior Alert on behalf of Salem Police after 72-year-old Robert Kenneth Mitchem was last seen leaving Lewis Gale Medical Center on Electric Road in Salem on June 27 at 7:41 p.m.—he reportedly left on foot and has a cognitive impairment. WFXR TV

- ➤ A rare albino deer was spotted in our viewing area — wildlife experts from the Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources explained that true albino deer, with all white hair and pink eyes, appear in only about 1 out of every 30,000 deer — and they are not given special hunting protection. WSET
