Marines of all ages gathered at a Lynchburg studio this week to record the Marine Hymn and continue a tradition that began 30 years ago after their breakfasts at Cracker Barrel.

Traquan Waller pleaded guilty to charges from a home invasion in Appomattox and a high-speed chase ending in Lynchburg, and he was sentenced to 18 years with a $1,000 restitution requirement—his gang affiliation was noted—while trials for the other suspects remain pending.

Police arrested a 17-year-old in Campbell County in connection with the May shooting death of Zaykeese Brown — the juvenile is charged with second-degree murder, burglary, and other felony offenses and is held at the Lynchburg Regional Juvenile Detention Center pending trial.
