- ➤ In three years, Mission Thrift grew from one shop on Bedford Avenue into three thriving locations in Lynchburg while creating 67 jobs and supporting local nonprofits—its stores offer unique, curated items and the company plans further expansion beyond Virginia. The News & Advance
- ➤ Casa Nueva opened on Fort Avenue after an old dry cleaners was turned into a vibrant event space. The 4,600-square-foot venue can host up to 220 guests and features a lounge, catering kitchen — and a room for wedding parties. WSET
- ➤ A new Dollar General Market opened on Campbell Avenue today and offers fresh meats, fruits, and vegetables while giving early customers a $10 gift card—an effort set to create 10 to 15 new local jobs. WSET

- ➤ Amaza Lee Meredith, one of the few Black architects without formal training, designed many houses in Virginia and built Azurest South at Virginia State University—which is listed on the Virginia Landmarks Register and National Register of Historic Places. - ➤ Lynchburg will begin over $5 million in renovations at Bank of the James Stadium after this season—upgrades include a new playground, enclosed event space, more beer stations, and an improved sound system—to keep the Hillcats in Minor League Baseball.
