Today, Governor Glenn Youngkin announced that Lynchburg received $4 million to develop Ivy Creek Innovation Park—an investment designed to ready the site for advanced manufacturing and engineering work.

This grant is part of a $40 million state program that funds 13 sites statewide to boost industrial growth and create new jobs.

Effective Friday, August 1, the crossover at Fifth Street and Commerce Street reopened to traffic as part of the John Lynch Memorial Bridge Repair Project.

Motorists can now make left turns from Commerce Street onto Fifth Street—repairs including a new pedestrian walkway are set to finish in spring 2026.
