CRIME NEWS

  • A Lynchburg 17-year-old has been charged with reckless driving after failing to stop at a sign on Five Forks Road & Military Road in Amelia County on August 10 when his Silverado struck a Honda Accord and overturned, killing Jamie Wayne Johnson, 42, who was secured in a wheelchair.  WDBJ7
  • On Aug. 10, a Lynchburg teenager ran a stop sign in Amelia County and crashed a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado—causing the truck to flip and killing front passenger Jamie Wayne Johnson, 42 and in a wheelchair—while injuring another passenger and the driver of a 2018 Honda Accord; the teen was charged with reckless driving.  WFXR TV

  • At Liberty High School, senior Graycen Andrews works long shifts to save money for college as more than 70% of students report stress over rising tuition costs + mounting fees that now exceed $24,000 per year.   • In partnership with Lynchburg Beacon of Hope and local businesses, E.C.
