CRIME NEWS

  • Florin Doroiman went to court Thursday in Lynchburg and faced charges for credit card larceny, a felony, and using a credit card skimming device, a misdemeanor, after Walmart managers found the device during a morning check—security footage showed him installing it and he later said a man paid him $200 for the job.  WSET

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Governor Glenn Youngkin said that Virginia’s finances were strong with high revenue and job growth, resulting in a $1.7 billion cushion—yet Medicaid and SNAP funding issues remained to be addressed in his December budget plan.  Cardinal News

  • Centra’s Urgent Care on Forest Road in Forest expanded its facility with a $500,000 project that added three exam rooms, one treatment room and a new waiting area. The expansion—driven by community feedback and timed with school reopenings—raised daily patient capacity from 90 to 120 as wait times dropped.  WSET
