Law enforcement agencies held a joint motorcade on Saturday to honor Appomattox County deputy Burlie Duvall III, who died Thursday after assisting at a crash in Campbell County.
The route ran from Appomattox County High School to Thomas Road Baptist Church in Lynchburg, with further tributes planned in Maryland.

Bradley Hanner, a PHCC pitcher from Rhoadesville, made his debut for the New York Yankees on Friday at Rogers Centre in Toronto.
Drafted by the Minnesota Twins in 2019, he recorded his first career punchouts with no walks in his relief appearance.
Lynchburg native Blake Davis, 20, will race in MotoAmerica Superbikes at VIR this weekend, competing in the Supersport class starting at 1 p.m. Saturday plus he is among 120 riders challenging the track’s three-mile high-speed course.
