- ➤ Law enforcement is searching for Cory Lamont Glover—36 years old, 5′11″, 250 lbs, with black hair and brown eyes—and he is wanted on charges including—six counts of violation of a protective order and hit and run/property damage—and anyone with information should contact Bedford County Sheriff’s Office. - ➤ HumanKind received approval from the Office of Head Start to expand its Early Head Start center at 1200 Fenwick Drive — a move that will let more children and families access quality early education — in Lynchburg. The News & Advance
- ➤ Rivermont Schools in Lynchburg supports students with autism and disabilities aged 5—22 by using ABA techniques in safe classrooms; this week the school opened a new Leesville Road facility that includes a gym—sensory and life skills rooms to help students prepare for a return to public school. - ➤ Starting Monday until about three weeks from now, Lynchburg Water Resources and contractor F.L. Showalter will repair stormwater utility piping on the south edge of Fort Avenue between Wythe Road and Oakley Avenue so that northeast-bound traffic is redirected to the center turn lane for left turns and the bike lane and sidewalk are closed—drivers should expect minor delays and use caution. - ➤ On Friday, the Lynchburg Police Department held a media event at 8:30 a.m.—officials discussed Chief Zuidema’s upcoming retirement and introduced Interim Chief Ken Edwards as part of a leadership transition within the force. WSET
