CRIME NEWS
- ➤ On Aug. 17, officers responded to a domestic violence call on Longivew Road and arrested a 35-year-old Lynchburg man who fled the scene; they recovered methamphetamine, cocaine, a backpack with marijuana and fentanyl, cash, and four handguns + one confirmed stolen during a search of his residence. - ➤ Lynchburg Police said Victor Dale Giles, 40, was arrested Tuesday, August 26 for the fatal shooting of Kasim Holmes on the 1100 block of Rivermont Ave and faces charges including first-degree murder, firearm use during a felony, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon—investigators continue their active probe. - ➤ Lynchburg Police arrested Cedric Reid on August 17 after he tried to flee a domestic violence incident at a residence on the 1500 block of Longview Road, where a search uncovered drugs, cash and four handguns—one confirmed stolen. WDBJ7
- ➤ On Aug. 17, Lynchburg police responded to a domestic violence call at a home on the 1500 block of Longview Rd and detained 35-year-old Cedric Reid after he tried to flee—officers recovered meth, cocaine, marijuana and fentanyl along with cash from his discarded items, and Reid now faces charges including domestic violence, abduction, strangulation, larceny, drug-related crimes and firearm offenses.
