Local chefs wowed the community at Jubilee Family Development Center's annual Top Chef competition Saturday night as winners were recognized for Best Appetizer and Best Entree while proceeds supported programs for children and families.
On Saturday, Aug. 29, the Evington Volunteer Fire Department held a memorial service at Thomas Road Baptist Church to honor 22-year-old firefighter Joshua Warren Jennings, whose lifelong service united family and community.
The family now asks for prayers and has launched a GoFundMe for expenses.

From Oct. 29-31, Historic Presbyterian Cemetery in Lynchburg will host ghost tours where actors portray historical figures (blending documented history with local legends) to honor those interred.
