- ➤ Nathaniel Pridemore, 33, of Lynchburg pleaded guilty Friday to four felony counts for assaulting corrections officers at Blue Ridge Regional Jail—witnesses said he punched one officer, bit two, and bent another’s fingers after he did not follow orders while on suicide watch. WSET
- ➤ Lynchburg Police are seeking help finding missing 16-year-old girl De’Riona Alexander, who was last seen on Grove Street in July and is described as 5'4" with black hair that may have blonde streaks and weighing between 150 and 160 pounds—tips should be reported immediately. WDBJ7

- ➤ Lynchburg City Council will hold a public hearing on September 23 at 7:00 p.m. to invite community comments on the draft Consolidated Annual Performance and Evaluation Report for fiscal 2025 (CAPER). City of Lynchburg
- ➤ Outgoing Lynchburg Police Chief Ryan Zuidema ended nearly 30 years in service when he left Lynchburg on Friday, September 5 for a chief role in Wilmington—he said that completing the new headquarters project and building strong department bonds marked his career milestone. WDBJ7
- ➤ Deputy Louis Goldman filed a defamation lawsuit against prosecutor Lyle Carver and deputy prosecutor Amber Drumheller in Lynchburg Circuit Court on August 20, alleging that false statements made during an April 2021 COVID-19 vaccination clinic hurt his reputation and ended his law enforcement career; he now works as a school resource officer at Amherst County High School (he is seeking $300,000 plus costs).
