A local woman said she received a call from someone posing as a police officer who claimed she missed a court summons and had a bench warrant, but after she asked to have the documents sent and checked with legal counsel it turned out to be a scam—Lynchburg police advise hanging up unknown numbers and verifying through the non-emergency line.
