- ➤ A local woman said she received a call from someone posing as a police officer who claimed she missed a court summons and had a bench warrant, but after she asked to have the documents sent and checked with legal counsel it turned out to be a scam—Lynchburg police advise hanging up unknown numbers and verifying through the non-emergency line. - ➤ The Lynchburg Area Veterans Council honored outgoing Police Chief Ryan Zuidema at its weekly troop rally at Monument Terrace by presenting him a plaque made from the flooring of Desmond T. Doss’ 114-year-old childhood home. The News & Advance

- ➤ Love Heals, a Central Virginia nonprofit that helps people with high medical bills through family-friendly concerts, has turned music into a tool for healing by raising funds and sharing stories.
