- ➤ Bedford County leaders are offering a $30,000 matching grant program to help childcare providers upgrade facilities, add classrooms, or train staff—efforts that aim to ease long waitlists. Applications opened on September 15 and must be submitted by October 24, with funding decisions coming in December. WDBJ7
- ➤ City of Lynchburg congratulated the Hillcats on winning the Carolina League Championship after the team beat the Columbia Fireflies 8—2 to secure its ninth title—city officials praised the players and staff for their hard work. City of Lynchburg
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The final phase of the Fifth Street project will start next month near downtown Lynchburg—this phase will add new water lines, storm water fixes, sewer upgrades, and better sidewalks.
