- ➤ Neighbors in Lynchburg gathered on Saturday for the fourth annual Community Care Day at Diamond Hill Day to stand against violence—organizers planned the event after an act of violence stunned the community. The day featured live music, dance shows, speakers, food and support from groups like Head Start, Lynchburg Legal Aid and the League of Women Voters. WSLS

- ➤ Lynchburg hosted its 16th Annual Beer, Cider & Wine Festival on Saturday, September 20 at the Lynchburg City Stadium—an event that brought together residents to enjoy local beverages. WSET
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ On Sept 19, Lynchburg City Schools unveiled The Lunchburg Express at Lynchburg City Stadium to give Career and Technical Education students hands-on experience in culinary, marketing, finance and entrepreneurship. Intuit and local partners provided a $250,000 truck and $20,000 donation, and the food truck is expected to start catering community events after passing its health inspection in a few months. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Lynchburg residents voted early after lining up at the registrar’s office on Friday to cast ballots in a general election that includes statewide contests for governor, lieutenant governor, and attorney general along with local races. Early voting continues until November 1 with the registrar’s office at (825 Kemper St.) open weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on select Saturdays. The News & Advance
