  • The Virginia 10 Miler took place yesterday despite rain as runners gathered from various regions, and a celebration is set at The Water Dog for racers, fans, and volunteers. Race Director Jeff Fedorko said the community's friendliness made the event special.  WSET

  • Brian Witt, who served as deputy treasurer for five years, is running for Lynchburg treasurer — he will be on the ballot on Nov. 4 in the general election.  The News & Advance
