- ➤ Gleaning for the World has launched a drive to collect clothing, food, toiletries and cash donations to support veterans and show appreciation for their service—donations will go mainly to the VA and will be collected on November 6 and 7 at locations including Harley Davidson in Lynchburg. WSET
- ➤ A combat veteran and his wife enjoyed their first night in a brand-new tiny home built by Purple Heart Homes in Bedford County on Thursday—Virginia’s first tiny home for veterans that offers running water and modern comforts. They plan to use their property as a safe space for other veterans to relax outdoors. WSET

- ➤ CraveABLEs, a local ice cream shop employing people with intellectual disabilities, closed its Lakeside Drive storefront after an electrical fire on September 21.
