After nearly two years of work, Randolph College finished a $23 million renovation of its Martin Science Building — now a bright center for learning, research and collaboration.

On Friday, R.S. Payne Elementary celebrated its 100th anniversary with a drumline performance and school mascot Chili the dragon joining students and teachers.

Hundreds gathered at Peaks View Park on Saturday for Lynchburg’s annual Out of Darkness Walk—an event hosted by the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention that honored loved ones lost to suicide and supported those in need.

Attendees noted that coming together raised community awareness about mental health and helped foster healing.
