- ➤ More than 20 community members spoke out at Thursday’s public hearing against the Bedford County School Board plan to redistrict Forest zone elementary schools — they urged officials to reconsider the proposal to avoid disrupting established student routines. The News & Advance
- ➤ Photos from Liberty University show emergency responders practicing a mass casualty training exercise on Thursday— the drill tests their readiness for potential critical incidents. The News & Advance
- ➤ Lynchburg Water Resources announced its second annual Imagine a Day Without Water youth art contest that invites local students to submit art or photography on the theme of water and the businesses that rely on it — teachers have been given contest guidelines for students in area public, private, and homeschool programs with entries accepted until November 6. Judges will select top entries to earn a $50 gift card and prizes while teachers can also win gift cards if they encourage submissions. WSLS 10
