- ➤ Virginia veterans on the 11th Central and Southwest Virginia Honor Flight toured Washington D.C. memorials on Saturday. They visited the Military Women’s Memorial and Korean War Memorial and returned to Bedford for a Sunday closing ceremony—honoring their service and sacrifices. WFXR TV

- ➤ After Friday's games, the Week 9 Football Friday Top 13 Poll confirmed the Glenvar Highlanders topped the rankings after shutting out Radford (35-0). - ➤ A Lynchburg judge denied a temporary restraining order that would have allowed Brookville High School football players Blake and Cameron Underwood, stepsons of former NFL star Logan Thomas, to return for Friday night's game amid an eligibility dispute. Their attorney argued that the Virginia High School League began questioning their eligibility in July without enough time to appeal—if the players were allowed to play, Brookville would forfeit future contests and trophies.
