- ➤ A Lynchburg family reflected on 13 years of hosting the Drumstick Dash — a Thanksgiving tradition that has grown and brought neighbors together over the years. WFXR TV
- ➤ The CASA Superhero Run, Halloween activities and a high school football match between one-loss Heritage and LCA fill Lynchburg’s weekend schedule. Organizers expect strong local turnout and fun events for families—an eventful weekend is ahead in the community. The News & Advance
- ➤ On Friday, November 7, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., Lynchburg’s Urban Forester and the Lynchburg Tree Stewards will lead a tree planting event at Miller Park where residents learn proper planting techniques. Trees will be planted every 15 minutes along Euclid Avenue and participants can park in the Grove Street parking lot. City of Lynchburg

- ➤ Delegate Spanberger held her final campaign push on Oct. 29 by visiting local events and speaking with voters — her efforts aimed to highlight key policy issues and her record in public service ahead of the election. WDBJ7
- ➤ VDOT warned that with daylight saving ending on November 2, motorists today should be extra alert as deer mating season increases the risk of crashes—drivers are urged to inspect headlights and slow near forested areas and deer crossing spots. Officials recommend not swerving aggressively if an animal appears and to prepare for sudden crossings on busy roads. WFXR TV

- ➤ Mark Spain was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer last November and his final broadcast occurred on November 25, 2024—his wife and doctors share his story this Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month to help people recognize early signs of the disease. WSET
- ➤ Bryson Lipscomb and his wife run Triple Oaks Farm PMA in Campbell County where private members get raw milk and meats—defying state pasteurization rules for public safety. A court case raised questions about food freedom versus health risks, but the state dropped the matter in early September and the farm plans to expand milk delivery to Charlottesville. Cardinal News

- ➤ Pete Rice of Bedford County says his modular home, bought four years ago from Freedom Homes, has had serious roof leaks since its one-year warranty ended—Big Lick Roofing found that improper installation and an inadequate underlayment allowed water damage that now requires a full roof replacement.
