- ➤ Fifteen-year-old Bentley is a tech-savvy teen who loves art, science, swimming, video games, and reading Dog Man books—he is seeking a patient and structured home where he can feel safe and supported. Bentley says belonging means happiness and hopes to find a loving family to share his creative spirit. WSLS 10
- ➤ Local relief groups launched donation drives for Hurricane Melissa survivors and are asking Lynchburg residents to drop off essential items at designated centers—donations such as food and water are needed. Organizers said the drives began earlier this week—further efforts will be announced as recovery continues. WDBJ7
- ➤ WSLS 10 News launched the 30 Days of Hope campaign for National Adoption Month to help 5,711 children in foster care who were removed due to neglect or parental drug abuse. The campaign—partnering with Virginia’s Kids Belong and HopeTree Family Services—shares stories of local families opening their homes for adoption. WSLS 10
- ➤ Two local nonprofits, God’s Pit Crew and Gleaning for the World, are collecting supplies in response to Hurricane Melissa to help families in Jamaica and support veterans here at home. Donations can be dropped off at the Sam’s Club parking lot on November 6 and 7 (from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.), with cash, checks, and essential items accepted. WDBJ7
