The 12th annual Stache Bash in Lynchburg raised over $690K for 35 local children charities as more than 300 mustache enthusiasts gathered and competed in a best-dressed contest—Borat winning—and Chris Boswell of Mustaches 4 Kids presented the check and received the Goose Award for a $52K contribution.

New soul-food spot Lula Mae's opened Saturday at 1042 Florida Avenue in Hill City.

The restaurant honors the owner’s grandmother with homemade dishes + offers games for waiting customers while operating daily from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. except Thursday.

A seven-acre site at the busy corner of U.S. 460 and New London in Forest will see a commercial development with a convenience center, fast-food restaurants + retail stores.

Construction is planned for the near future.
