- ➤ Gas prices statewide dropped 0.5 cents per gallon — averaging $2.84 on Monday — according to GasBuddy's survey of 4,081 stations, showing a 3.1 cent decrease from a month ago. WSET

- ➤ Burlington Elementary teacher Kacey Day earned the December Education Impact award for her creative classroom techniques and strong student engagement; she and the school will share a $250 reward from Blue Eagle Credit Union (a recognition of her impact in a Title I setting). WSLS 10
