About this event

Join us at Randolph College on November 12, 2026 for a special community screening of the award-winning documentary Small Town Universe —an evening designed to bring together students, educators, technology professionals, business leaders, and the community through science, discovery, and connection.

Small Town Universe takes audiences to Green Bank, West Virginia , home to one of the world’s most powerful radio telescopes, and explores the people whose lives intersect with the search to understand our universe.

The evening begins with special pre-film programming, including a STEM-focused gathering for regional educators and a networking reception bringing together leaders from technology, business, education, and the community. Guests attending the reception can enjoy food and wine/beverages while connecting with regional organizations and event partners.

Following the reception, guests will gather in the auditorium for the screening of Small Town Universe , followed by a post-film conversation and Q&A exploring the themes of the film and their connections to science, education, technology, and our region.

A VIP experience will also be available, featuring balcony seating with complimentary snacks, wine, and other beverages during the film.

Whether you're a student curious about what lies beyond our world, an educator inspiring the next generation, a professional working in STEM or technology, or simply someone who loves a remarkable story, this evening is for you.
