Lynchburg City Schools has narrowed its superintendent search to six finalists (from 27 applicants) after reviewing all candidates and requesting each finalist submit a video answering follow-up questions (as part of the selection process), and the school board will vote on a new educator later this month.

Today through April 14, Jackson Street between Fourth Street and Fifth Street is closed on weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. due to a crane operation at 901 Fifth Street — motorists including emergency vehicles must follow a detour and pedestrians need to use alternate routes.
