  • A driver in a van was flown to hospital after crashing into a house on an interstate near Bedford County & emergency crews investigated the incident.  WDBJ7

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Since 2021, the City of Lynchburg spent nearly $150K fighting Councilman Martin Misjuns' suit after he was fired from the fire department for bullying. Misjuns says his firing broke his free speech when he posted anti-trans remarks—he now wants $450K and to reopen the case.  WSET

HEALTH NEWS

  • Centra Lynchburg General Hospital was recognized with the American College of Cardiology’s Chest Pain — MI Registry Platinum Performance Achievement Award for the 10th time, placing it among the top 5% of hospitals for heart attack care. EMS and hospital teams work together using pre-hospital 12-lead EKGs to shorten treatment times and improve outcomes.  The News & Advance
  • With school starting soon, Dr. Zachary Williams from Lewis Gale Medical Center warns that heavy backpacks can cause neck, back, and shoulder pain and advises parents to keep a child’s backpack weight at 10—15% of their body weight.  WSLS 10
